How to AUTO Set up Ministra TV 5.6.9 on Ubuntu 20.04 Vanilla

Whats Ministra.

For those of you that don't know what Ministra is. Ministra (Formaly Stalker Middleware) is a self hosted semi-open source IPTV streaming platform that's used by thousands of people around the world, the Minstara software itself is centred more around IPTV providers than customers but allows a provider to host a central administration panel to distribute Live TV content, on Demand video content including TV Shows & Movies. If you ever thought about hosting your own Movie/TV Streaming service, Ministra is where you'd need to start!

Semi-Open Source?

Yeah I think it's odd too! Ministra is considered Open Source software but you have to officially submit a request to download the required installation files, this isn't outside the norm for a company like this, they are collecting information on clients to increase there sales reach in other areas of their business. Safe to say following this guide your not going to need to fill in any form listing your name and address or any other personal information.

The Why.

After already posting a couple of guides already on installing Ministra I have spent a little bit of time writing scripts helping other people out on other sites in other communities. The question popped up, Where can you download and install the latest Ministra 5.6.9 from a trusted source and know that nobody has tapered or altered with the files? Well this is how we ended up here!

The Script.

The script will download and install Ministra 5.6.9 from either my own hosted source or directly from Ministra's servers.... Yeah that's right :)

Get the Script.

wget https://files.scripting.online/ministra_569/install.sh

Run the Script.

sudo chmod +X install.sh
sudo bash install.sh

During installation the script will ask for two passwords, 1 for the MySQL root user and the other for a password that Ministra will use to connect to MySQL. You will be asked if you want to download files directly from Ministra's servers. type yes or no, if selecting no the script will download from a mirror. During the last part of the script when sudo phing runs, you will see a message asking you to confirm the authenticity of a source for git, just type yes and press Enter.

If you read this and you would like to give any feedback or discuss the script any further, please email support@scripting.online.
